SLF 3D – Devlog #1

Hello everyone,

After revealing my new project, I wanted to share a first progress update and give you a glimpse of what’s coming. Welcome to my very first devlog.

Over the past few days, I’ve been working on one of the biggest foundations of the game: the high school. One major challenge was combining Daz (used for character creation and visuals) with Unity (the game engine) to build something believable and immersive. I’ve recreated an entire school environment that is now mostly complete — though I’ll keep expanding it over time with new rooms, hidden areas, and secrets to discover.

And of course, a high school needs students. A lot of them.

I’ve been adapting every existing character into Unity, which takes about 30 minutes per character when everything goes smoothly (and much longer when surprises happen). This means setting up all their scripts, importing them properly, creating animations, adding physics for things like skirts and clothing movement, and making each character feel alive in the world.

The school will feature:

  • 3 classes of 12 students
  • 1 class of 12 juniors

That’s 48 students total. Yes… that’s a lot.

Now, don’t expect every character to have a full questline (that would be massive), but my goal is to create a real, living high school, populated with characters who have routines, personalities, and eventually the possibility for you to build relationships with each of them.

And the students aren’t alone. The school will also include:

  • The Principal
  • 5 Teachers
  • The Librarian
  • The Cafeteria Lady

In short… this world is starting to feel alive.

Here are a few early screenshots from the game. (Just a reminder: these are taken directly from Unity, so image quality is reduced compared to what the final game will look like.)

More soon…
